Content

The Master's programme in Industrial Engineering and Management at h_da is aimed at students with a Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics or mechanical engineering. It offers both the theoretical and practical foundation, expansion and consolidation of economic and engineering knowledge. The cooperation between the three departments of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering and Plastics Technology, and Business Administration guarantees that students can develop new fields of knowledge beyond their Bachelor's degree. The methodically designed study program provides specific qualifications that prepare students for management tasks in companies and organizations in professional practice. More detailed information about the study programme can be found on the website of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology.

Perspectives

Industrial engineers are mainly employed at the interfaces between technology and management. Due to the diverse course contents, a multitude of professional perspectives open up. Graduates can choose between a direct career entry, starting their own business or a scientific career. The multiple qualification enables them to take on leading positions in business and science.

After a Master's degree, there is the possibility of a doctorate. The central contact point is the Graduate School.

Structure

Graduates of a seven-semester Bachelor's programme in Industrial Engineering and Management are offered a consecutive three-semester Master's programme. In the first two semesters, students put together an individual course of study in the fields of economics and technology by setting personal priorities. In the last semester, students work on their master's thesis. Graduates of technical study programmes complete a four-semester Master's programme. The core knowledge of economic science is imparted in a preceding semester. Subsequently, students complete the consecutive three-semester Master's programme. A detailed presentation of the course contents can be found in the module manual (German).

Dual study programme

Industrial Engineering (Master of Science) can also be pursued as a dual study programme. Further information can be found on the website of the faculty.
